No, you do not have to share your residential station. This is an option to choose when creating a station both publicly and privately within our app and website. You are able to browse public charging stations without an account, and you can sign up using only your email and password to browse home chargers. Additionally, we have a messenger system to contact users who have publicly opened their station to others. Sharing electricity is cheap! Charging a car on a standard outlet costs about 15 cents an hour. You can share by appointment only, choose how much information you wish to display, or opt out anytime.

There are thousands of shared charging stations throughout the country, helping to fill the gaps in public charging infrastructure. Users have complete control over the times and terms of their stations’ availability, how other members can contact them, and what personal information is displayed.

We strongly suggest checking our Add a Station FAQ for any additional questions when uploading your station!
